The Host
Villa Krasi was built by Vasil Angelov, who spent years living and working in the United States and the Netherlands before coming home to the mountains above Blagoevgrad. He built the house on family land, with the idea of a place that could hold three generations at once — a sauna and fireplace for the adults, a trampoline and swings for the children, and quiet enough that everyone sleeps well. He still hosts every stay himself, and he speaks English as easily as Bulgarian.
Renting directly from Vasil is not the same as booking an anonymous listing. He answers his own messages, meets guests when they arrive, and knows the region well enough to say which trail is worth the drive and which restaurant in Melnik to call ahead. Years abroad taught him what international guests expect, and the house was built around it. If something is needed during your stay, you talk to the person who owns the place.
“New, clean, cozy villa with excellent facilities such as the sauna — you do not find one very often in vacation homes. Vasil was one of the most welcoming hosts we have ever had!” Airbnb guest — March 2024
